Pokémon Yellow Classic
Nintendo · 1989
Nintendo's Game Boy launched in 1989 with Tetris in the box and went on to sell well over a hundred million units together with the Game Boy Color. Its four-shade green screen hosted Pokémon Red and Blue, Link's Awakening and Super Mario Land.
Game Boy games were designed for short bursts on the go, which makes them ideal for a coffee break today. Many are available through Nintendo Switch Online, and original carts play on any later Game Boy model.
Matrix Picks tracks 641 Game Boy games, 196 of which support two or more players.
