It landed about 2 years into the Game Boy's life. Other notable Game Boy releases from 1991 include Metroid II: Return of Samus, Final Fantasy Adventure and Yoshi.
It is part of the Mega Man series; on the Game Boy you can also try Mega Man V, Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge and Mega Man III. The series also appears on other systems with Mega Man (NES) and Mega Man 2 (NES). Capcom also made DuckTales, DuckTales 2 and Darkwing Duck for the Game Boy.

What playing Rockman World is like
Platformers are all about movement: running, jumping and timing your way across levels full of gaps, enemies and secrets. The best ones feel great to control within seconds and then slowly teach you to master every leap.
Tip for newcomers: Retro platformers often have limited lives and few checkpoints. Learn one level at a time, look for hidden 1-ups, and don't be shy about using a save feature when it is available.
