Developed by NMS Software and published by Black Pearl Software, Pinocchio arrived on the Game Boy as a puzzle game. It blends puzzle, platformer and adventure elements.

It is part of the Disney series; on the Game Boy you can also try DuckTales, The Lion King and Talespin. The series also appears on other systems with DuckTales (NES) and Disney's Aladdin (Genesis). NMS Software also made Star Wars, Disney's Aladdin and F-15 Strike Eagle for the Game Boy.

This is a solo experience: one player, no waiting on anyone else.

Pick it if…

  • you want to think and plan
  • you have time for a quick session (under an hour, or endless arcade fun)
  • you've played the Game Boy hits and want something less obvious

Maybe skip it if…

  • you want story, exploration or action
  • you are looking for something to play with friends

What playing Pinocchio is like

Puzzle games challenge pattern recognition, planning and quick thinking, from falling-block games to single-screen logic puzzles.

Tip for newcomers: Puzzle games are perfect for short sessions and often have endless or score-attack modes, so they never really end.
