Best Nintendo DS simulation games

The Matrix has 99 simulation games on file for the Nintendo DS, released between 2004–2011. 25 of them support multiplayer. They're ranked below by legacy score, so the games that shaped the genre on the DS come first, with lesser-known picks further down.

Simulation games model a system and let you play inside it, whether that means building a city, flying a plane, raising a pet or running a business.

Typical commitment: weekend project (roughly 6–20 hours). Tip: Simulations are often open-ended. Set yourself small goals and enjoy experimenting with the systems.
