Released for the PlayStation in 1994, Gokujō Parodius Da! Deluxe Pack is a shooter developed by Konami.

It belongs to the PS1's earliest wave of games. Other notable PS1 releases from 1994 include King's Field, Motor Toon Grand Prix and Ridge Racer.

It is part of the Parodius series; on the PS1 you can also try Sexy Parodius, Jikkyō Oshaberi Parodius and Paro Wars. The series also appears on other systems with Parodius! Maybe skip it if…

  • you are not a fan of fast-paced aiming and twitch reflexes
  • you are looking for something to play with friends

What playing Gokujō Parodius Da! Deluxe Pack is like

Shooters are built around aiming and firing, from first-person corridor blasters and light-gun games to run-and-gun stages and multidirectional arcade shooters.

Tip for newcomers: Retro shooters were designed for CRT TVs and original controllers; light-gun games in particular need special hardware or alternative controls on modern screens.
