Developed by Bandai Namco and published by Natsume, Power Rangers arrived on the Super Nintendo in 1995 as an action game.

It landed about 4 years into the SNES's life. Other notable SNES releases from 1995 include Chrono Trigger, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest.

It is part of the Power Rangers series; on the SNES you can also try Power Rangers Zeo: Battle Racers, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie. The series also appears on other systems with Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue (N64) and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (Genesis). Bandai Namco also made Dragon Ball Z: Super Butōden, Dragon Ball Z: Hyper Dimension and Captain Tsubasa J: The Way to World Youth for the SNES.

This is a solo experience: one player, no waiting on anyone else.

Pick it if…

  • you want to fight, blast and test your reflexes
  • you have time for an evening or two (roughly 1–6 hours to see it through)
  • you've played the SNES hits and want something less obvious

Maybe skip it if…

  • you prefer slow, thoughtful games over reflex tests
  • you are looking for something to play with friends

What playing Power Rangers is like

Action games test reflexes and nerve. Expect fast enemies, tight controls and stages you clear by reacting quickly and learning enemy patterns.

Tip for newcomers: Retro action games are often short but tough. Treat early deaths as practice runs; every attempt teaches you where the next threat comes from.
