Developed by Midway Home Entertainment, NFL Blitz arrived on the PlayStation in 1998 as a sports game.
It landed about 3 years into the PS1's life. Other notable PS1 releases from 1998 include Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2 and Tomb Raider II.
It is part of the NFL Blitz series; on the PS1 you can also try NFL Blitz 2000. The series also appears on other systems with NFL Blitz (N64) and NFL Blitz 2000 (N64). Midway Home Entertainment also made Kurt Warner's Arena Football Unleashed for the PS1.
NFL Blitz supports up to 2 players, whether that means taking turns or going head-to-head.
