Released for the Sega Game Gear in 1993, Chuck Rock II: Son of Chuck is a platformer developed by Core Design.

It landed about 2 years into the Game Gear's life. Other notable Game Gear releases from 1993 include Sonic Chaos, Tom & Jerry: The Movie and Power Strike II.

It is part of the Chuck Rock series; on the Game Gear you can also try Chuck Rock. The series also appears on other systems with BC Racers (32X) and Chuck Rock (SNES). Core Design also made Asterix and the Great Rescue and Wolfchild for the Game Gear.

This is a solo experience: one player, no waiting on anyone else.

  • you are looking for something to play with friends

What playing Chuck Rock II: Son of Chuck is like

Platformers are all about movement: running, jumping and timing your way across levels full of gaps, enemies and secrets. The best ones feel great to control within seconds and then slowly teach you to master every leap.

Tip for newcomers: Retro platformers often have limited lives and few checkpoints. Learn one level at a time, look for hidden 1-ups, and don't be shy about using a save feature when it is available.
