Released for the Game Boy Advance in 2005, Yoshi Topsy-Turvy is a platformer developed by Artoon and published by Nintendo. Depending on the region, you may also know it as Yoshi's Universal Gravitation.

It landed about 4 years into the GBA's life. Other notable GBA releases from 2005 include Pokémon Emerald, Mario Party Advance and WarioWare: Twisted!. Among the 170 GBA platformers in our database, it ranks #8 by legacy score.

It is part of the Yoshi series. The series also appears on other systems with Yoshi's Story (N64) and Yoshi's Island DS (DS). Artoon also made Pinobee: Wings of Adventure and The King of Fighters EX: Neo Blood for the GBA.

This is a solo experience: one player, no waiting on anyone else.

  • you are looking for something to play with friends

What playing Yoshi Topsy-Turvy is like

Platformers are all about movement: running, jumping and timing your way across levels full of gaps, enemies and secrets. The best ones feel great to control within seconds and then slowly teach you to master every leap.

Tip for newcomers: Retro platformers often have limited lives and few checkpoints. Learn one level at a time, look for hidden 1-ups, and don't be shy about using a save feature when it is available.
