Sonic Shuffle is a board, card or party game released in 2000 for the Sega Dreamcast, developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega.

It came out in the Dreamcast's second year on the market. Other notable Dreamcast releases from 2000 include Jet Set Radio, Skies of Arcadia and NBA 2K1.

It is part of the Sonic the Hedgehog series; on the Dreamcast you can also try Sonic the Hedgehog. The series also appears on other systems with Sonic R (Saturn) and Sonic Rush (DS). Sonic Team also made Sonic Adventure 2, Space Channel 5 and Phantasy Star Online for the Dreamcast.

Sonic Shuffle supports up to 2 players, whether that means taking turns or going head-to-head.

Pick it if…

  • you want to think and plan
  • you have time for a quick session (under an hour, or endless arcade fun)
  • you have a friend to play against
  • you want to experience one of the Dreamcast's defining games

Maybe skip it if…

  • you want action or story rather than tabletop-style play
