Neo Geo games

SNK's Neo Geo, launched in 1990, used the same hardware in arcades (MVS) and living rooms (AES), so home players got genuine arcade games. Home cartridges were famously expensive, which made the AES a luxury item, but its library of fighting games and run-and-gun shooters is legendary: The King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown, Fatal Fury, Garou and Metal Slug.

Neo Geo games are built for short, intense arcade sessions and are at their best head-to-head with a friend. Most of the library has been re-released on modern platforms, and the games also run in arcade emulators such as Rec0m88's MAME support.

Matrix Picks tracks 121 Neo Geo games, 56 of which support two or more players.
