Released for the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive, NBA Showdown is a sports game developed by Electronic Arts. Depending on the region, you may also know it as NBA Showdown '94.
It is part of the NBA Live series; on the Genesis you can also try Lakers versus Celtics and the NBA Playoffs, NBA Live 96 and Team USA Basketball. The series also appears on other systems with NBA Live 2001 (PS1) and NBA Live 2003 (PS1). Electronic Arts also made Road Rash II, Road Rash 3 and Budokan: The Martial Spirit for the Genesis.
NBA Showdown supports up to 4 players, whether that means taking turns or going head-to-head.

- you have time for a quick session (under an hour, or endless arcade fun)
- you have a friend to play against
- you've played the Genesis hits and want something less obvious
Maybe skip it if…
- you need current teams and rosters
