Developed by Zed Two and published by Infogrames, Wetrix arrived on the Game Boy Color in 2000 as a puzzle game.

It landed about 2 years into the GBC's life. Other notable GBC releases from 2000 include Wario Land 3, Super Mario Bros. Deluxe and Grand Theft Auto 2.

It is part of the Wetrix series. Zed Two also made Dragon Tales: Dragon Wings and E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial and the Cosmic Garden for the GBC.

Wetrix is a single-player game, so it's one to enjoy at your own pace.

Pick it if…

  • you want to think and plan
  • you have time for a quick session (under an hour, or endless arcade fun)
  • you've played the GBC hits and want something less obvious

Maybe skip it if…

  • you want story, exploration or action
  • you are looking for something to play with friends

What playing Wetrix is like

Puzzle games challenge pattern recognition, planning and quick thinking, from falling-block games to single-screen logic puzzles.

Tip for newcomers: Puzzle games are perfect for short sessions and often have endless or score-attack modes, so they never really end.
