Catz is a simulation game released in 1999 for the Game Boy Color, developed by Saffire and published by Mindscape.
It came out in the GBC's second year on the market. Other notable GBC releases from 1999 include Pokémon Pinball, Conker's Pocket Tales and Bugs Bunny & Lola Bunny: Operation Carrot Patch.
It is part of the Petz series. The series also appears on other systems with Horsez (GBA) and Tigerz (DS). Saffire also made Billy Bob's Huntin'-n-Fishin', Oddworld Adventures 2 and E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial: Escape from Planet Earth for the GBC.
This is a solo experience: one player, no waiting on anyone else.

What playing Catz is like
Simulation games model a system and let you play inside it, whether that means building a city, flying a plane, raising a pet or running a business.
Tip for newcomers: Simulations are often open-ended. Set yourself small goals and enjoy experimenting with the systems.
