Developed by Kemco and published by Nintendo, Bugs Bunny: Crazy Castle 3 arrived on the Game Boy Color in 1999 as a strategy game.

It came out in the GBC's second year on the market. Other notable GBC releases from 1999 include Pokémon Pinball, Conker's Pocket Tales and Bugs Bunny & Lola Bunny: Operation Carrot Patch.

It is part of the Bugs Bunny series; on the GBC you can also try Bugs Bunny in Crazy Castle 4. The series also appears on other systems with The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 2 (Game Boy) and The Bugs Bunny Birthday Blowout (NES). Kemco also made Spy vs. Spy, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker and Tweety's High-Flying Adventure for the GBC.

Bugs Bunny: Crazy Castle 3 is a single-player game, so it's one to enjoy at your own pace.

Pick it if…

  • you want to think and plan
  • you have time for a weekend project (roughly 6–20 hours)
  • you've played the GBC hits and want something less obvious

Maybe skip it if…

  • you want quick action without planning ahead
  • you are looking for something to play with friends

What playing Bugs Bunny: Crazy Castle 3 is like

Strategy games reward planning over reflexes: command armies, manage resources and outthink opponents on turn-based or real-time battlefields.

Tip for newcomers: Read the manual or tutorial if one exists: retro strategy games often assume you know their rules. Save between missions.
