Developed by Natsume and published by THQ, Bass Masters Classic arrived on the Game Boy Color in 1999 as a sports game.

It came out in the GBC's second year on the market. Other notable GBC releases from 1999 include Pokémon Pinball, Conker's Pocket Tales and Bugs Bunny & Lola Bunny: Operation Carrot Patch.

It is part of the Bass Masters Classic series. The series also appears on other systems with Bass Masters Classic: Pro Edition (SNES) and Bass Masters Classic: Pro Edition (Genesis). Natsume also made Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Action Man: Search for Base X and Croc 2 for the GBC.

This is a solo experience: one player, no waiting on anyone else.

Pick it if…

  • you want to race and compete
  • you have time for a quick session (under an hour, or endless arcade fun)
  • you've played the GBC hits and want something less obvious

Maybe skip it if…

  • you need current teams and rosters
  • you are looking for something to play with friends
