Released for the Game Boy Color in 2000, Airforce Delta is a simulation game developed by Climax Studios and published by Konami. Depending on the region, you may also know it as Deadly Skies.

It landed about 2 years into the GBC's life. Other notable GBC releases from 2000 include Wario Land 3, Super Mario Bros. Deluxe and Grand Theft Auto 2.

It is part of the Airforce Delta series. The series also appears on other systems with Airforce Delta (Dreamcast) and Airforce Delta Storm (GBA). Climax Studios also made LEGO Alpha Team and LEGO Racers for the GBC.

Airforce Delta supports up to 2 players, whether that means taking turns or going head-to-head.

Pick it if…

  • you want to think and plan
  • you have time for a weekend project (roughly 6–20 hours)
  • you have a friend to play against
  • you've played the GBC hits and want something less obvious

Maybe skip it if…

  • you want clear goals and a defined ending

What playing Airforce Delta is like

Simulation games model a system and let you play inside it, whether that means building a city, flying a plane, raising a pet or running a business.

Tip for newcomers: Simulations are often open-ended. Set yourself small goals and enjoy experimenting with the systems.
