Developed by Eurocom and published by THQ, Rugrats: I Gotta Go Party arrived on the Game Boy Advance in 2002 as an action-adventure game. It blends action-adventure, board, card & party and platformer elements.

It came out in the GBA's second year on the market. Other notable GBA releases from 2002 include Sonic Advance 2, Metroid Fusion and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Four Swords.

It is part of the Rugrats series. The series also appears on other systems with Rugrats: Search for Reptar (PS1) and Rugrats in Paris: The Movie (N64). Eurocom also made Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for the GBA.

Rugrats: I Gotta Go Party supports up to 2 players, whether that means taking turns or going head-to-head.

Pick it if…

  • you want to get lost in a long quest
  • you have time for a weekend project (roughly 6–20 hours)
  • you have a friend to play against
  • you've played the GBA hits and want something less obvious

Maybe skip it if…

  • you want a game you can finish in one short session

What playing Rugrats: I Gotta Go Party is like

Action-adventures blend real-time combat with exploration, puzzles and item collection. You open up a larger world gradually as new tools let you reach places you couldn't before.

Tip for newcomers: Keep a mental (or paper) map of locked doors and unreachable ledges; most action-adventures expect you to come back once you find the right item.
