Developed by Natsume and published by THQ, Power Rangers Dino Thunder arrived on the Game Boy Advance in 2004 as an action-adventure game. It blends action-adventure and adventure elements.

It landed about 3 years into the GBA's life. Other notable GBA releases from 2004 include The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, Mario vs. Donkey Kong and Sonic Advance 3.

It is part of the Power Rangers series; on the GBA you can also try Power Rangers S.P.D., Power Rangers Wild Force and Power Rangers Ninja Storm. The series also appears on other systems with Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue (N64) and Power Rangers Zeo: Battle Racers (SNES). Natsume also made WWF Road to WrestleMania, WWE Survivor Series and WWE Road to WrestleMania X8 for the GBA.

Power Rangers Dino Thunder is a single-player game, so it's one to enjoy at your own pace.

Pick it if…

  • you want to get lost in a long quest
  • you have time for a weekend project (roughly 6–20 hours)
  • you've played the GBA hits and want something less obvious

Maybe skip it if…

  • you want a game you can finish in one short session
  • you are looking for something to play with friends

What playing Power Rangers Dino Thunder is like

Action-adventures blend real-time combat with exploration, puzzles and item collection. You open up a larger world gradually as new tools let you reach places you couldn't before.

Tip for newcomers: Keep a mental (or paper) map of locked doors and unreachable ledges; most action-adventures expect you to come back once you find the right item.
