Mega Man & Bass is an action game released in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance, developed by Capcom. This GBA release is a port or adaptation of a game that first appeared in 1998. It blends action and platformer elements.

It landed about 2 years into the GBA's life. Other notable GBA releases from 2003 include Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow and Sonic Battle.

It is part of the Mega Man series; on the GBA you can also try Mega Man Zero, Mega Man Battle Network and Mega Man Battle Network 2. The series also appears on other systems with Mega Man (NES) and Mega Man 2 (NES). Capcom also made Onimusha Tactics, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Justice for All and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Trials and Tribulations for the GBA.

This is a solo experience: one player, no waiting on anyone else.

Pick it if…

  • you want to fight, blast and test your reflexes
  • you have time for an evening or two (roughly 1–6 hours to see it through)

Maybe skip it if…

  • you prefer slow, thoughtful games over reflex tests
  • you are looking for something to play with friends

What playing Mega Man & Bass is like

Action games test reflexes and nerve. Expect fast enemies, tight controls and stages you clear by reacting quickly and learning enemy patterns.

Tip for newcomers: Retro action games are often short but tough. Treat early deaths as practice runs; every attempt teaches you where the next threat comes from.
