Developed by Elo Interactive and published by Swing! Entertainment, Creatures arrived on the Game Boy Advance in 2002 as a simulation game. This GBA release is a port or adaptation of a game that first appeared in 1996.

It came out in the GBA's second year on the market. Other notable GBA releases from 2002 include Sonic Advance 2, Metroid Fusion and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Four Swords. Among the 38 GBA simulation games in our database, it ranks #14 by legacy score.

It is part of the Creatures series. The series also appears on other systems with Creatures II: Torture Trouble (C64) and Creatures (C64). Elo Interactive also made The Amazing Virtual Sea-Monkeys for the GBA.

What playing Creatures is like

Simulation games model a system and let you play inside it, whether that means building a city, flying a plane, raising a pet or running a business.

Tip for newcomers: Simulations are often open-ended. Set yourself small goals and enjoy experimenting with the systems.
